| BIOGRAPHY | Mary Wright's simple, clear and organic art has always been inspired by nature. Feathers, shells, trees and mottled rock formations hiding deeper abstract universes stimulate her work. Mary was born and reared in Southern California where she received her teaching degree from UCLA. Following the Korean War, she petitioned the U.S. Air Force to teach art to the children of American personnel in Japan. While in Japan, she was also disciplined in Sumie painting under master Reiko Saito. In 1960 Mary returned to the U.S. to teach in the Los Angeles School District. There she met and married architect Eric Lloyd Wright, grandson of Frank Lloyd Wright, with whom she has two sons. In addition to teaching art and painting from their mountaintop home in Malibu, Mary and her family are hosts to many philanthropic, environmental and social fundraising events. They have a non-profit organization, Wright Way Organic Resource Center, that conducts workshops in organic and sustainable building practices as well as large community gatherings at equinox and solstice. It also sponsors workshops in organic gardening, art, poetry and music. All events have scholarships for inner-city youth. |

| BIOGRAPHY | An award-winning documentary writer/producer in her†pre-motherhoo? life, Marcy Axness has turned her penetrating eye to early human development. Using as a narrative foundation her experience as an adoptee and a mother, Dr. Axness researches the attachment and developmental implications of conventional parenting practices. Her specialization in prenatal and perinatal development grew out of a decade of writing and speaking, internationally, on the tapestry of issues involved in adoption and adoptive parenting in particular. She is one of the worl?s leading experts on the primal issues in adoption. Dr. Axness’ doctoral studies were highly interdisciplinary, yielding an understanding of myriad human development influences from exoteric to esoteric—from cell biology and neurophysiology to non-local consciousness effects and movements of soul. Included in her studies was an in-depth survey of the socio-cultural underpinnings of attitudes and behaviors around pregnancy, birth and parenting, with particular focus on reproductive and birth technologies; as well as “frontier” theories of human development, most notably those of Rudolf Steiner. She will soon be working with an NIH-funded team of scientists who have for twenty years been studying the effects of pregnant mothers’ stress upon fetal development and birth outcomes; she will help design a study to specifically explore the stressor effects of a pregnant woman’s anticipation of relinquishing her baby for adoption. Dr. Marcy has a counseling/coaching practice—with offices in the Valley and on the Westside—guiding parents in supporting their children’s optimal early development through the practical application of leading-edge research. The “quantum” in Quantum Parenting refers to 1) the irreducible unit of the most powerful influence upon children—consciousness; and 2) the exciting leap that is possible when conventional methods aren’t quite working anymore... where with guidance and information parents can make that quantum leap into a remarkable new orbit of consciousness, effectiveness, and existence. |

| BIOGRAPHY | Barbara has counseled children in six LAUSD Elementary Schools, using art therapy. Noticing how children are so often feeling disconnected, she started studying both Maria Montessori and Joseph Pearce. In their developmental theories there is a recognition of the necessity for children to bond with nature at an early age. We are all part of the natural world, whether we live in the city or the country, and Montessori believed the wonder and admiration of nature enabled children to unify their thinking. By learning how all things are related, they will understand that, no matter what we touch, an atom, or a cell, we cannot explain it without knowledge of the wide universe. Pearce’s model of development is one of moving from the mother matrix, to the earth matrix, to the self matrix, indicating that the bond with the earth is a necessary stage in preparation for a healthy sense of self. Without it, he believed the self is impaired. Given what Montessori and Pearce have said, and the current state of the planet, we have two things at stake: the individual healthy development of the child, and the consequences of how the adult will care for the earth, or not! Barbara started a program called "Babes in the Woods", doing nature walks with families and children from off 4 years old. Beginning Oct. she will do two walks a month. Larger groups can schedule separately with her instead of coming on the regular monthly. Barbara 310-858-7272 #132 for Directions. Hypnotherapist for the past 14 years. Marie-Paul is affiliated with The Private Midwife Care,

services. She has provided hypnosis training for numerous mothers who have given birth in various
hospitals and birth centers throughout Southern California.
Marie-Paul is also an educator who speaks on the value of hypnosis to enhance the birth
experience and improve prenatal and postnatal bonding between baby, mother and companion.
"I believe that the birth experience is a blueprint of what happens with our lives. Hypnosis can
help provide a comfortable, joyful birth and that’s a wonderful place to start a new life. It can
also make a tremendous difference during the critical time of gestation. I know that we can have
a
positive impact on the evolution of humanity through educating parents to make conscious
choices--because their own experiences and emotions have such a powerful effect on their baby.
When parents understand the impact they
have on their unborn child, they can become the parents they have dreamed of being.
